What is “A Night on the Town”?
A Night on the Town is an annual event that provides a powerful opportunity for our community to learn about homelessness, raise awareness for our friends without an address, and experience a bit of what it might be like to be outside, overnight, in the hottest part of our humid Kentucky summers.
Box dwellers commit to spending 8 hours outside in a cardboard box, on the Court Square in downtown Murray. Box dwellers come from all works of life: local government leaders, police officers, pastors, business leaders, students, grandmas and grandpas, moms and dads. Each box dweller is challenged to raising at least $1,000 to help the Murray Calloway County Homeless Coalition build a tiny home community.
Community members can get involved with us by donating, signing up to be a box dweller, being a business sponsor, serving as an event volunteer, or donating a silent auction item! Email us at for more information.
Kids of all ages are invited to stop by to have fun, hang out, and learn more about our friends without an address!
Enjoy some amazing Mexican Food from Mija's Food Truck starting at 5:00 pm!
Bring your best cornhole skills for our cornhole tournament! Did you know that socks are the #1 request of the homeless when they enter a homeless shelter? Entry fee is $5 OR a package of new socks. Registration begins at 5:00 on the night of the event.
THANK YOU TO OUR 2019 BOX DWELLERS! THIS EVENT WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT YOU!
