We are excited to welcome you to Opportunity House, our first step toward helping the homeless in Murray/Calloway County!
Located at 408 S. 6th Street, OpportUNITY House is an old house that, over the years, has been converted into 5 apartments. While establishing a tiny-home village remains the goal of the coalition, the Board of Directors realized that a short-term solution was needed while the details of establishing a tiny-home community are being ironed out. OpportUNITY House is located just blocks from the local soup kitchens, the hospital, doctors' offices, the public library, churches, schools, and more.
Applications for housing at OpportUNITY House will begin being taken on July 1.
Minimum Requirements to Apply for Residency at OpportUNITY House:
Tenants must be established residents of Murray/Calloway County. (No Transients.)
Tenants must be able to pass a drug test and be willing to submit to random drug testing.
Tenants must not be registered sex offenders.
Tenants must be willing to participate in the upkeep of the house and community.
Tenants must participate in life-skills training.
